A volume estimate is a planning document containing the relevant items and amounts of materials for the organization of the construction process, time and additional resources for production activities, and capital construction.

A construction estimate is a financial document and an integral part of a contract for the construction of a building, regardless of the form of ownership of the contractor organization. When drawing up a construction estimate, two main categories of costs are envisaged:

- for the performance of work;

At the same time, one cannot do without careful consideration of technical and organizational issues, in particular

- determination of the scope of work
- construction terms,
- technologies used,
- quantity of materials;
- number of employees;
- forecasting the amount and stages of financing.
